The Fixer™

The Fixer™ pattern searches for the answer that will finally make sense of everything — and the search itself can quietly become the thing standing in the way.

The Short Version

The Fixer™ pattern keeps looking for the explanation or treatment that will finally solve things. Curiosity is its strength — commitment is usually the missing piece.

What it looks like

Researching the next possible explanation or treatment. A list of things still to try.

Brief relief when something new is found, followed by doubt. Delaying action while waiting to feel certain enough to begin.

Why it develops

Searching for the right answer is a completely reasonable response to feeling let down by answers that didn’t hold.

Somewhere along the way, though, the search itself can become the strategy — and every new option, while hopeful, also becomes another reason to wait.

Instead of: “I need to find the right answer first.”
Try →
“What’s one path I could properly trial?”

What actually helps

Certainty is rarely found by searching further — it’s found by choosing a path and giving it a real, defined trial.

Why This Matters

Commitment, not more searching, is what moves things forward.

Recognising the Fixer™ pattern makes it possible to commit to one approach long enough to actually learn whether it works.
